About the Pelican: Several artisans who are represented by Analece, an art and jewelry gallery in downtown Fairhope, have joined together to create Jewelbillee, a dazzling pelican who represents the true spirit of Fairhope and the Eastern Shore. The vision for this beautiful bird is a depiction of the local flavor of Fairhope in a whimsical way.
About The Artist: The artists collaborating on Jewelbillee are Anita Park-Rosenbaum, Karen Cazel, Robin M.N. Richards, and Neal Thomas. Anita Park-Rosenbaum is co-owner of Analece and Bayside Beads. Natural elements are the inspiration for her handcrafted jewelry. Karen Cazel has been creating jewelry since 1970. She likes to feel that her jewelry pieces are small sculptures of art you can wear. Painter Robin M.N. Richards quotes from George Elliot: "It's never too late to be what you might have been." She has illustrated over 50 greeting cards and several cookbooks. Neal Thomas is a "Stone Carving Rock Hound." Neal makes custom jewelry and guitar picks out of stone. Willie Nelson and his guitarist Jodie Payne have been known to wear and play with Neal's picks.
