About the Pelican: The Elegant Pelican has flowers in her hair (feathers), and is beautifully clothed in vibrantly colored paint and mosaic. A true Southern Belle.
About The Artists: Jolane Edwards is the founder of Fairhope's Committee on Public Art (COPA) and has been an active participant in numerous civic organizations. An award winning artist, she paints mostly in oils and acrylics. Her work is regularly displayed at Patina Gallery
About The Artists: Anne Morgan moved to Fairhope in 1994 to open Christine's By the Bay, a high-end gift shop, where she began to see beauty in the broken". A self-taught mosaic artist, Anne's birdhouses have been populat items in shops in Fairhope, Birmingham, and Cashiers, NC.
About The Sponsor: Jack Edwards is a member of the law firm of Hand Arendall, L.L.C., in Mobile and Fairhope. After twenty years in the U.S. House of Representatives he retired in 1985 to return to the practice of law. He had a unique and distinguished career in public life. He served as a Republican leader under five Presidents from Lyndon Johnson through Ronald Reagan
