32: MORNING GLORIES PELICAN Sponsor: Ann Shields and Family Artist: Sue Breitfeller

About the Pelican: As a child, I delighted in the sight of morning glories climbing a wall adjacent to our house. Their heavenly shade of blue was to make a permanent impression on me. I have always loved plants but these are special, they seem to say this is a glorious world, apporeciate it and all it offers. I have not often been successful in growing morning glories but I am able to paint them. Perhaps you too will delight in seeing morning glories as they entwine themselves into Art Takes Flight.
About The Artist: Susan Breitfeller taught art in the public school system for 30 years. She wrote curriculum for the middle school and coordinated efforts with others, doing set designs and choreography for drama and musical productions in the middle and high schools. Her work is hung internationally as well as nationally, both in public places and private homes. After 7 years in Mexico, where she did set design and choreography, lighting and acting, she and her husband settled here in Fairhope.
