About the Pelican: Water Garden Pelican is a lighthearted piece that celebrates backyard aquaculture. Japanese carp cavort among white lotus and Louisiana iris; the brilliant orange of the fishes' scales are a striking contrast to the deep teal of the pond. This is a playful piece, meant to be enjoyed.
About The Artist: Val Webb is a full-time studio artist in Mobile, Alabama. She is best known for her intricately carved handmade tile installations. Her work is included in corporate, institutional and private art collections throughout the world. Val also works as an illustrator from time to time, and has illustrated 11 books for children. She enjoys teaching short classes and workshops in all kinds of art.
