About the Pelican: This mosaic pelican will be covered in a combination of vibrant glass beads and tiles, mirror tiles and colorful hand-made ceramic tiles. The wings of the pelican will be mostly in ocean hues and will include hand-lettered tiles reading Art Takes Flight and Flight Inspires Art. The body of the pelican will be covered in mirrored tile.
About The Artist: Blair Fischrupp Garth lives in Pensacola, Florida. She has created independent artwork thought her career in a multitude of mediums, including acrylics, wood, ceramics and mosaics. She has exhibited in galleries and art shows as well as worked on commissioned pieces. She has enjoyed working with mosaics for the past six years, and has created a variety of indoor and outdoor installations. She has a BA in Graphic Design from LSU.
