62: SUPER PELICAN Sponsor: Prissy Wilson, in loving memory of her son John Carrington III Artist: Amanda Peacock

About the Pelican: My idea for my pelican came from the summertime hit movie, Superman. Of course, he's not a man, but a pelican, hence the name SuperPelican. The cape was handmade and constructed of foam, then attached to the pelican. The timeless character is fun and kids will enjoy recognizing him from afar.
About The Artist: Amanda Peacock moved to the Eastern Shore area in her junior year in high school and attended Daphne. She took art classes throughout her middle and high school years and when it came to choosing a career, she knew she wanted to so something with art. She graduated from Auburn University with a degree in graphic design. After participating in an internship with Lewis Communications in college, she was offered a job. She is currently an art director at the firm. Amanda recently got married and lives with her husband, two dogs and a cat in Lake Forest. They enjoy spending time with their pets, watching movies and Auburn football. Their second passion is cooking, whether for friends, family or just themselves. She and her husband are excited about one day having a family in this wonderful area.
