About the Pelican: Bronze Goddess Beach Babe (Babe) is a sun worshipping honey eager to show off her well earned summer glow. She sports a bright red bikini, with matching sun hat and her nails are flashily painted to complete her look. She boldly displays a rhinestone studded belly ring and is the proud owner of a tiny heart tattoo on her right hip that further enhances her bronze beauty. She happily takes flight to enjoy our sunny, sandy eastern shores eager to relax. Her beach tote is packed with a handy snack of anchovies, bottled saltwater and the latest issue of Cosmopelican.
About The Artist: Often commissioned to paint watercolor depictions of family homes, Nancy Self also enjoys painting landscapes, animals and, on occasion, children enjoying the beach. In 1999, she was asked to paint the city of Mobile skyline for then Mayor Mike Dow as a gift for his service as Campaign Chair for United Way of Southwest Alabama's annual fundraising campaign. Nancy has participated in several charity art auctions over the years by painting on martini glasses, large glass globes, and ceramic tiles, in addition to providing original paintings and prints for the fundraisers.
