About the Pelican: JUBILEE PELICAN is covered in broken tile, or mosaic. The design on the bird is crabs in blue hues, and the rest of the crabs in natural and browns. There are sculpted crabs climbing the base of the bird. The idea came from the annual Jubilee of Crabs on the Eastern Shore!
About The Artist: Evie Davis is a working artist in the fiber medium, actively doing six to twelve shows per year. This is her primary job. She continues to learn new things about her art. She has been married for nineteen years, and has two daughters, ten and fifteen. She spent a year and a half as the project manager for a major community park, which was completed in May 2006. The park incorporated a lot of mosaic art, and she really enjoyed that medium.
